OUR HISTORY

Encore Wire began its legacy in 1989, as a 68,000 square foot industrial warehouse building in McKinney, Texas. With support and dedication from our employees, our customers and our community, we have grown to over 2 million square feet under roof and stretch across 425 acres. Today, Encore Wire is a leading manufacturer of copper and aluminum residential, commercial and industrial building wire.

PROMOTING GOOD HEALTH

The health of our employees and their families is top priority for us. From the beginning we understood how the health of our employees not only impacts their work, but their family life too. At Encore Wire, we offer a Medcor On-Site Clinic with a nurse practitioner for employees and their immediate families. For many, our Medcor On-Site Clinic provides basic health screenings and treatment equal to a general practice facility where otherwise, might not be possible. We offer a wide range of health and wellness topics that assist our employees and their families with good lifestyle choices.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

At Encore Wire, our community outreach program is simple: we strongly believe in sharing our success with those around us. Every year, we give back to our youth and community by supporting hundreds of nonprofit organizations.

SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING & INNOVATION

We are not only transforming the products we make, but how we make them. Our goal is be ZERO LANDFILL by the end of  2018. Meaning, every bit of waste we produce on our campus will be recycled or repurposed, putting zero percent of waste into our landfills. In the meantime, we work hard to reduce our impact on our planet with green initiatives like our baghouse filtration system in our Rod Mill, preferred parking for fuel-efficient vehicles, scrap program, reclaimed PVC program, and switching over from incandescent bulbs to LED bulbs throughout our campus. In addition, the buildings we add to our campus like our Encore TechLab®, built in 2012, was the first of its kind LEED® Platinum certified research and development facility in North Texas. Encore’s TechLab is our hope and mission to provide a sustainable center for continued process and product development as we continue to bring new products and labor-saving innovations to our customers.
