Encore Wire Rings Opening Bell at NASDAQ
In honor of our twentieth anniversary as a publicly traded company, CEO & President, Daniel Jones, rings the opening bell at NASDAQ this morning, Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Accompanying Mr. Jones at the ceremony was his wife, Donna and daughter Katelynn, along with Kevin Kieffer, VP of Sales and Marketing, with his wife, Jennifer, and Ken Knuth, VP of Administration, and his wife, Marsha.

Encore Wire Awarded Texas Manufacturing Star
Employees gathered as Encore Wire was presented the Texas Manufacturing Star Award by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Chairman, Tom Pauken, at a 10am ceremony on site in the 1st floor conference room Wednesday, March 28, 2012.
“We recognize outstanding employers like Encore Wire who work hard to maintain and increase manufacturing jobs in Texas,” said Mr. Pauken. “Texas leads the nation in terms of creating jobs, but unfortunately, manufacturing comes second.”
In attendance for the award ceremony was McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller, City Council and Collin County Commissioners. Mayor Loughmiller, who was elected in May 2009, is active in the community through volunteer work at church, McKinney ISD schools and city government.
“Encore Wire has been an instrumental member of the McKinney community for more than 20 years, and we are proud that they call McKinney home,” said McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller.
Encore Wire employs approximately 1,000 workers and will be adding approximately 100 more jobs once the aluminum plant expansion is completed.
The Texas Workforce Commission started the Texas Manufacturing Star award program in order to identify remarkable success stories within its community.
Encore Wire, and all of its employees who contribute to its success, were honored to be recognized for their hard work with such a high honor.

Encore Hires New Rep to Cover Chicago
We have hired a new agency to cover the Chicago area! We are excited to have Great Lakes Electrical Sales with owners Shawn Offenbacher and wife, Renee, join our team.
Shawn, whose background consists of a degree from Northwestern University, took his first job working in the warehouse at Graybar Electric while he was still in high school. Soon after, he moved up to a counter position; ending his career at Graybar as a CSR. After college, Shawn went to work for Panduit in Chicago as a Sales Rep for their Data-Communication division, where he later became the District Sales Manager.
Renee graduated with a bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert College and went on to complete her graduate degree at Loyola University in Chicago. Renee’s electrical career began shortly after college at Panduit, where she worked as a quote coordinator for the Chicago district. Renee played a critical part in the success of the Panduit team in Chicago, taking significant market share and adding additional responsibility coordinating global accounts, global pricing team training and global copper pricing strategy.
Continuing to work for Panduit where they met, Shawn and Renee moved to Phoenix where Shawn became the Regional Vice President for the western region covering 13 states. They moved their family back to the Chicago area in 2011, where Shawn started working as the Regional Sales Manager for Cooper Lighting.
Shawn and Renee started Great Lakes Electrical Sales in early 2012.

Encore TechLab is awarded LEED® Platinum building certification
Encore Wire Corporation announced today that it’s 13,000 sq. ft. new Encore TechLab has been awarded LEED® Platinum certification established by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBSI). LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
Extensive planning and time went into the design of this facility to be in compliance with LEED Platinum construction guidelines, perhaps the only building of its kind in North Texas.
Encore TechLab facility is now complete
We are pleased to announce the completion of the Encore TechLab. Construction of this 13,000 sq. ft. laboratory complex is located on the Encore Wire Campus at 1324 Millwood Road in McKinney, Texas. Extensive planning and time went into the design of this facility to be in compliance with LEED Platinum construction guidelines, perhaps the only building of its kind in North Texas.
The Encore TechLab houses state-of-the-art testing and analytical equipment, allowing such testing capabilities as FTIR, DSC, TGA, GC-MS, XRF and SEM, to name a few. READ ARTICLE
